It’s busy season for wedding photography, so I’m a bit late in posting some images from Louise and Clark’s wedding. They were married at the Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Liphook, Hampshire on Sunday the 9th.
I met the couple at another wedding in Brighton earlier this year, where Clark’s cousin Mark was getting married. Louise was on the urgent lookout for a photographer after her previous booking had fallen through. They had the chance to see how I worked at Mark and Sarah’s wedding, then check out the photos afterwards, so it ended up being a no nonsense instant booking.
I’ve never been to the Old Thorns before and was surprised to see that it looks like a small town, with a main hotel, lots of extra buildings under construction and a large golf course. Everything looked well organised and the staff were very helpful when it came to taking the photographs. I took some formal groups after the ceremony at 2.00pm and then set off in a golf buggy convoy with the hotel events manager, Louise, Clark and best man Jon to find a good location for photos of the couple.
The light on the day was very bright, so I needed to use some extra lighting to balance it out, Jon helped out by hanging on to an umbrella and stand to prevent it from sailing off in the wind while I took the photos. We ended up beside a small lake on the golf course and spent about twenty minutes trying a variety of shots before returning to the hotel for the wedding breakfast.
Near the end of the day I had another opportunity to take photos of the bride and groom out on the course. This time we went to a spot with a view over the surrounding countryside and managed to take a few pics as the light was fading. Then it was a rush back to the ballroom for cake cutting, the first dance and into the evening party.
Congratulations to Louise and Clark, hope you like them.
