About Dave Perris

Hi, My name is Dave Perris and I work as a corporate, press and wedding photographer in Brighton, Sussex, London and throughout the UK.
My first job after leaving school, a very long time ago, was working as a seaside resort photographer. I covered internationally significant events such as the ‘knobbly knees’ contest in local hotels and took photos of pensioners getting off coaches on the cliff top and put them into keyrings. Ah happy days!
I became enthusiastic about photography and the next year I attended Bournemouth College of Art on a three year fashion and advertising course, which taught me the fundamentals of the technical side of photography and introduced me to some of the all time great photographers.
When I left college I took an unplanned sidestep and designed and made fitted furniture for several years. However, the cameras kept calling and for the last fifteen years I’ve been working as a full time freelance. Most of this time was spent in London, where I worked in press and public relations photography for many different publications and organisations. In a world full of photographers I trade under the name of Lucky Dog Photography in a desperate attempt to get noticed.
A few years ago I moved to Brighton and decided to offer a wedding photography service in addition to the corporate and commercial work, initially as a way of avoiding the daily commute to London. This has now become one of my specialities and something that I enjoy very much.
I now work all over Sussex and the south east, as well as maintaining my client base in London. I continue to learn every day and generally love what I do.
